Bears
These photos of grizzly and black bears are primarily from a trip I took to Canada in 2016, on and around Vancouver Island. I had some special experiences with bears on this trip - most notably from a female black bear that took a few moments to stare me down as she walked between fishing posts. From about five feet away, with only a chain link fence between us, she seemed very curious what I was doing pointing my strange clicking contraption at her, and I'm sure pondering whether I either had food or could be food. It's really something when an animal that big chooses to acknowledge your existence and approach, even if only for a few moments.
